April 2003 Dear colleagues, an updated version of the testbeam analysis framework h8 is available now from the Web: http://pcatlax.mi.infn.it/testbeam/h8-repository/h8-03.4.03.tgz The main new feature is: * a new alignment procedure of both the telescope and demonstrators (either modules or single chips). Details on the new alignment procedure and studies can be found in http://pcatlax.mi.infn.it/testbeam/messages/alignment.txt https://edms.cern.ch/file/372239/1/h8-alignment.ps In the new version * a new procedure for hot pixels search already described in October 2002, December 2002 testbeam analysis meetings (https://edms.cern.ch/file/364277/1/Andrea_Hotpixels.pdf) is incorporated. Comments, suggestions, complaints are welcome! September 2002 The location of the new version of H8 alignment and analysis program (working for all testbeams from 1998, included the 2002 Daq-1 data taking) is reachable from Pixel Testbeam home page. The new version is: http://pcatlax.mi.infn.it/testbeam/h8-repository/h8-08.09.02.tgz It contains the following features: * working with DAQ-1 and Windows BAT DAQ (need to specify flag -r 3 and -r 2 respectively) both in db and h8 programs; * reorganized the conversion from local to telescope coordinates (see file transform.F for a description); * changed definition of chip id and iorien (described with db -h and file transform.F); * improved hot strips rejection; * output of occupancy map when used with option -s; * y tilt in the alignment forced to 0 October 2001 The location of the new version of H8 alignment and analysis program (working for 2001 testbeam) is http://pcatlax.mi.infn.it/testbeam/h8-repository/h8-11.03.02.tgz Main feature: modified in order to work with the Bonn telescope and Windows BAT DAQ. 10.07.00 Dear collegues, a new version of the H8 alignment and analysis program is released and can be found in /afs/cern.ch/atlas/maxidisk/d43/h8tb/milano/programs/h8-10.07.00.tar.gz or in http://pcatlax.mi.infn.it/testbeam/h8-repository/h8-10.07.00.tar.gz Besides all the database initializations for year 2000, the major modification is the treatment of the pixel bad row address 255 (very frequent in may/june 2000 data and preventing alignment to converge), which has been singled out and treated as a warning, not as an error. Alignment now OK. The thresholds for strip detectors have also been adjusted. The list of all the modifications to the program since previous release can be found below. Best regards, Clara Troncon 23.05.00 Francesco Ragusa moved to g77 v0.5.24 with cernlib 2000: a. soubroutine pix_his.F fixed argument of float b. Makefiles in h8.src and db.src libf2c -> libg2c added flags -lnsl -lcrypt -ldl to ld c. df.F inserted offset for data 2000 old bugs fixed in database name <--> offset matching d. options.F same modifications done in c. e. rd_data.F modified default thresholds for 2000 data modified printout of masks for single chips 27.05.00 Francesco Ragusa rd_evt: fixed initializiation of pointer jfea2 loglvl 8 print iflag decode_fea1: counters removed from calling sequence test added on pointer jdem error codes reviewed h8main: printout of error codes define_cuts: loglvl 1 print cuts 04.06.00 Francesco Ragusa decode_module: error codes reviewed h8main: counters reviewed decode_fea1: bad row address 255 (very frequent in may/june 2000 data) singled out and treated as a warning, not as an error. This version was not yet tested on single chip assemblies. In case of problems, please e-mail Francesco Ragusa or me. The calibration files currently available corresponding to the testbeam configurations have been provided by John Richardson and can be found on http://pxs.lbl.gov/~pixel, following the link to electronics lab-measurements demonstrator results etc... As soon as more calibration files corresponding to testbeam configurations will be provided by other laboratories, a repository of calibration files with links to run numbers will be created in the same maxidisk /afs/cern.ch/atlas/maxidisk/d43/h8tb/milano/calibrations Best regards, Clara ***************************************************************************** * Clara TRONCON, Phone : +39-02-2392388 * * INFN Milano, Via Celoria, 16 FAX : +39-02-2392624 * * 20133 - MILANO (ITALY) * * * * E-mail : Clara.Troncon@cern.ch CERN Phone : +41 22 767 8123 or 5819 * ***************************************************************************** ___________________________________________________________________ This mail has been sent to all members of the list atlas-pixel-detector ___________________________________________________________________
